Acquisition and Resources Provision
Periodicals
The library provides the departments with:
- Title availability, supplier, price offer
- Subscription based on the requirements of the heads of the Faculty of Science departments
- Record and processing in the library catalogue
- Return to the relevant department after the period of exposure in the Central Library (14 days)
- Delivery control, complaint procedure
- Access to the electronic version of the periodical and to the list of library periodicals
- Purchase, exchange, gift management
Detached departments subscribing periodicals directly are bound to have all issues processed by the library.
Order a periodical subscription
Deadline for 2024 order submission (foreign and local periodicals) is 30 September 2023.
Order a periodical via email, or web or paper form.
The web form allows you to order one item at a time. For ordering multiple periodicals, please fill in the web form repeatedly (the form will reload after page refresh, F5 key).

Monographs
The Library provides the departments with:
- Title availability, supplier, price offer
- Purchase upon request of the authorized persons
- Record and processing in the electronic catalogue of the Faculty of Science
- Return to the relevant department
- Access to the document electronic version and to the full-text in the catalogue
- Purchase, exchange, donation management
The library also provides:
- Records and processing of defended theses
- Records and processing of publications of the Faculty of Science (publishing activity, proceedings)
- Archiving of faculty production
- Records and processing of gifts (after previous agreement)
Ordering a monograph
To order a monograph, contact the librarians in charge by email or use the web or paper form.

Electronic Information Resources
The Library provides the departments and grant holders with:
- Title availability, supplier, price offer
- Free trial access (usually 30 days)
- Management of Co-financing with other subjects
- Purchase upon request of the authorized persons
- Electronic access, EIR training
EIR acquisition for the Faculty of Science is coordinated and approved by the Library board of the Faculty of Science, within MU it is managed by Library Information Centre MU (KIC MU).
Exchange & Donations
Exchange of publications
Periodicals collection is continuously replenished also through the publication exchange programme. Partner institutions send their publications and receive Faculty of Science publications in return. Exchange works on the basis of mutual agreement and is free of charge. The library currently offers journals Archivum Mathematicum (EN), Geologické výzkumy na Moravě a ve Slezsku (CZ) and Ochrana přírody (CZ).
Donations
Donation is possible upon agreement.
How to donate publications
If you wish to donate publications to the Library, please contact us at pujcovnauk@sci.muni.cz Send us a list or photos of publications to donate. Librarians then assess their relevance for our collection.
